Emma Hayes kicked off her tenure as United States manager with a commanding 4-0 victory over South Korea in a friendly match.

Chicago Red Stars forward Mallory Swanson and Gotham FC defender Tierna Davidson each scored twice to secure the win for the four-time Olympic champions, who are preparing for the Paris Games this summer.

At DSG Park in Colorado, Swanson opened the scoring in the 34th minute, followed by a looping back-post header from Davidson four minutes later.

Davidson struck again early in the second half with another far-post header before Swanson completed the rout in the 74th minute.

"You can see we're building something," said Hayes.

"There's lots of work to do. There's lots of holes in our play, no question, but it was a good start."

Emma Hayes concluded her 12-year tenure as Chelsea boss by securing her fifth consecutive Women's Super League title, her seventh overall with the club.

The 47-year-old expressed feeling "re-energised" after transitioning from Stamford Bridge to international management.

The US will face South Korea again on Tuesday at Allianz Field in St. Paul, Minnesota.
