Fulham End Liverpool’s Unbeaten Run with Stunning Comeback

Liverpool's 26-game unbeaten streak in the Premier League came to an abrupt halt as Fulham delivered a thrilling 3-2 victory at Craven Cottage.

Arne Slot’s side took an early lead through a spectacular long-range strike from Alexis Mac Allister, but Fulham responded with three goals in a blistering 13-minute spell before the break to flip the game on its head.

Ryan Sessegnon started the comeback, finishing smartly after Andreas Pereira's deflected cross landed perfectly in his path.

Fulham took the lead nine minutes later when Alex Iwobi capitalised on a poor cross-field ball from Andy Robertson.

Although his first effort was blocked, his follow-up shot took a deflection off Robertson and beat Caoimhin Kelleher.

The third blow came from a corner. Although Iwobi’s attempt to recycle possession looked unthreatening, Rodrigo Muniz kept the move alive.

With a slick touch and a composed finish, the Brazilian slotted past Kelleher to put Fulham firmly in control.

Liverpool pulled one back in the 72nd minute when substitute Luis Diaz found the bottom corner following a clever pass from Conor Bradley.

The Reds pushed hard for an equaliser, with Harvey Elliott going closest when his curling effort struck the crossbar. Late efforts from Elliott and Federico Chiesa offered hope, but Fulham goalkeeper Bernd Leno held firm.

Despite the loss, Liverpool remain 11 points clear at the top of the table with seven games left to play.

They need just 11 more points to seal a record-equalling 20th league title.

Fulham, on the other hand, moved up to eighth place and bolstered their hopes of European football.

They now sit five points behind fourth-placed Chelsea.

A Timely Reality Check for Liverpool

While the defeat is unlikely to derail Liverpool's title charge, it served as a timely reminder that nothing can be taken for granted in the Premier League.

Mac Allister’s wonder goal was one of few bright spots in a disjointed first-half performance. Fulham were sharper, more aggressive, and fully deserved their lead at the break.

Early warning signs were there, with Ibrahima Konaté losing the ball in his own box within the opening 10 minutes.

That error went unpunished, but others did not. Liverpool were culpable in all three Fulham goals—poor clearances, wayward passing, and missed defensive duels all played their part.

The second half saw a more focused Liverpool take control, but despite the injection of pace and urgency, they couldn’t fully recover.

Diogo Jota missed a crucial chance early in the half after being played in by Mohamed Salah, and that moment could have changed the game.

Still, with the title within reach, there's little cause for panic.

But the message is clear: Liverpool must earn every point from here on out.

Fulham Revive European Dreams

Just over a week after a crushing FA Cup exit to Crystal Palace, Fulham bounced back in style.

Their first-half performance against Liverpool showcased the energy, organization, and attacking flair that has kept them in contention for Europe.

Marco Silva’s side pressed high and hard, breaking up Liverpool’s rhythm and dominating midfield battles.

When they regained possession, they moved the ball intelligently, refusing to waste hard-earned opportunities.

Muniz was immense up front, battling both Van Dijk and Konaté, while those behind him created spaces and passed with purpose.

Though Liverpool’s errors played a role, Fulham’s intent and execution were key to their success.

With seven games remaining, Fulham’s hopes of a Champions League spot remain slim, especially with games in hand for rivals.

However, a strong finish could still secure a Europa League or Conference League berth—an outcome that would be well deserved based on performances like this.
