Rennes responded early in the second half when Lilian Brassier powered in a header from Ludovic Blas' corner, briefly raising hopes of a comeback.
However, substitute Dembélé ensured there would be no late drama, calmly finishing twice in added time to take his league tally to 20 goals this season.
The win extends PSG’s lead at the top to 16 points as they continue their march toward a fourth consecutive title.
Their focus now shifts to overturning a narrow Champions League deficit against Liverpool at Anfield on Tuesday.
