Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers believes there’s “more to come” from Nicolas Kuhn after the German winger netted twice to propel the league leaders to a commanding 3-0 victory over St Mirren.

Kuhn, 24, continued his red-hot form by scoring on either side of Auston Trusty’s first-half header, taking his season tally to an impressive 16 goals.

The victory restored Celtic's dominance at the top of the Scottish Premiership, extending their lead to 13 points following Rangers' stumble at Easter Road.

“We play with fast wingers who create and score, and Nicolas has been exceptional,” Rodgers said. “His numbers this season are remarkable, but there’s still more to come from him.”

Kuhn, who endured a challenging start after joining from Rapid Vienna last January, has become integral to Celtic’s attacking firepower.

His first goal came courtesy of a well-crafted move initiated by Luke McCowan, whose pinpoint pass freed Daizen Maeda to set up Kuhn for a clinical finish.

St Mirren offered resistance early on, pressing Celtic and limiting their chances, but the floodgates opened as Trusty powered in a header from an Arne Engels corner to double the advantage before halftime.

Kuhn nearly added a stunning third with a blistering counter-attack sparked by Kasper Schmeichel, but St Mirren goalkeeper Zach Hemming denied him with a crucial save.

Moments later, Hemming's mistake handed Kuhn a gift-wrapped second goal, capitalizing on defensive confusion to seal the win.

While Adam Idah had a late goal disallowed for offside, Schmeichel preserved his clean sheet with a sharp save from Jonah Ayunga, ensuring a bounce-back performance for Celtic after their midweek defeat to Rangers.

Rodgers’ side now appear firmly in control of the title race, with Kuhn’s brilliance adding to their ever-growing dominance.
