Real Madrid received bad news after the disappointing night the team experienced after losing to Lille of France last night in the Champions League, as a new player in its ranks was injured. The match between Real Madrid and Lille, in the second round of the group stage in the Champions League, ended with the defending champions losing by one goal to none.
Marca newspaper revealed that Brazilian Eder Militao, the team's player, suffered an injury that led to his substitution against Lille.
The newspaper said in its report: "The player had been suffering from discomfort since the first half, and although he showed his ability to continue, he was substituted in the second half, as Militao was seen putting an ice pack on his thigh muscle in his leg, and the player will undergo medical examinations upon his arrival in Madrid." Carlo Ancelotti decided to substitute Militao during the 57th minute of the match he played against Lille, which was held at the "Pierre Mauroy" stadium, to be replaced by Kylian Mbappe.
Real Madrid is scheduled to meet Villarreal in the match that will bring them together in the ninth round of the Spanish League competition next Saturday.
