Tottenham Reach Agreement on Fee for Leeds Teenager Gray

Tottenham are nearing a deal with Leeds for midfielder Archie Gray, with the transfer valued between £30 million and £40 million, and defender Joe Rodon heading the other way.

The 18-year-old is expected to undergo a medical at Spurs' training ground after agreeing to a long-term contract in North London.

Spurs are set to secure Gray despite London rivals Brentford's attempt to sign him. Brentford had initiated a medical at their training ground and made a similar bid, but Leeds rejected their offer due to issues with the payment structure and add-ons.

The sale is likely to help Leeds meet profit and sustainability regulations following their Championship Play-Off final loss to Southampton, which denied them promotion and necessitated player sales.

Gray, who qualifies for both England and Scotland, also drew interest from Chelsea and Liverpool. Last season, he was a regular for Leeds, featuring in 52 matches across all competitions, mostly in midfield but occasionally at right-back. He signed a new long-term deal in January.

Wales international Joe Rodon, 26, will move to Leeds in a separate deal estimated at around £10 million.

Additionally, Leeds defender Charlie Cresswell is set for a £3.8 million transfer to Toulouse and will undergo a medical in France after arriving yesterday. Marc Roca has also been sold to Real Betis for a reported £4 million.
