Sevilla announces the appointment of a new coach

The Spanish Football Club Sevilla announced on Tuesday, the appointment of Uruguayan coach Diego Alonso to lead the team until the end of the current season, succeeding coach Jose Mendilibar.
Sevilla said in an official statement that Diego Alonso will take over the task of coaching the team until the end of the current season, indicating that he will lead the team’s training today, Tuesday.
The Spanish team noted that Alonso's last training experience was with the Uruguay national team, which he led to qualify for the finals of the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 before being eliminated from the World Cup in the first round.
This is also Alonso's first coaching experience in Europe, after he coached clubs in Uruguay and Mexico in addition to Inter Miami, but he will not be a stranger to the Spanish stadiums, as he previously played with Atletico Madrid, Valencia and Malaga when he was a player.
Sevilla scored a bad start in the Spanish League this season, achieving only two victories, compared to two draws and four defeats, and is ranked fourteenth in the “La Liga” table with 8 points.
